The lost art of RSVP

RSVP [ahresveepeeverb, RSVPed or RSVP’d, RSVPing or RSVP’ing, noun, plural RSVP’s.

Verb: (used without object)
1. to reply to an invitation: Don’t forget to RSVP before Thursday.

2. a reply to an invitation: He sent a lovely bouquet of flowers with his RSVP.
3. (used on an invitation to indicate that the favor of a reply is requested).

Origin: 1895–1900;  < French épondez ‘il ous laît )

Planning a special occasion is A LOT OF WORK, finding a venue, planing a menu, designing the perfect tablescape etc… But there is always one aspect of  planning a wedding that stresses a mother of the bride far beyond the clean up or seating chart; it’s the RSVP (répondez s’il vous plait) or lack thereof.  As mentioned above there is a lot of work that goes into throwing a party, dinner, event, or wedding…  Lets start with food.  An accurate headcount ensures everyone leaves full and happy…what about drink?  favors? etc…   Why it’s so hard for people to respond with Yes, I am attending or No, I cannot?  The reality is there is not a single reason that it should be that difficult to RSVP in a timely fashion. I t’s not rocket science.  It common sense.  So when you receive that special invitation for any occasion do your guest a favor and reply in a timely fashion!

stacy + daniel

like most of our clients- we just loved working with stacy + daniel  on their summer nuptials!  Stacy had a great eye for all the little details that made each guest feel so special!  Congratulations to you both an best wishes for the happiest of beginnings!  Big up’s to our friends at nine photography for these amazing moments captured by their talented eye… and props to  Stir Crazy Bakery for de-lish looking sweets and of course, Loretta, one of Bowtie Vintage Classics sweet rides.

riley + bryant wed

There are some people that you get to work with that make the job so fun and completely worth all the blood, sweat {whew- texas summers} and tears {well, maybe a little of a reach} that go into the occasion… Kelly + Riley are two of these people.  Kelly {mom of the bride}, works at  Anthropologie and pulled together the details from Anthro + BHLDN {heart}.  Kelly had {a florists dream}  amazing vessels that she  pulled  from her private collections … simply making  all the details so personal.  We loved the muted hues of  mint, robins egg blue, soft peaches to bold hues of coral, orange, and pinks that were pulled together.  There were various unique  details such as wishing well guestbook, skeleton key escort tags, guest departed with fresh peaches from the peach stand,  and tablescapes of clustered Anthropologie bottles adorned in coral peony, garden roses, astilbe, dahlias and much much more, 24k gold antlers and & vessels and a collection of fabulous vintage books.  The evening was beautiful and filled with happy times!
